Swakop Uranium to host second Husab Marathon

Swakop Uranium will host its annual Husab Marathon on the 13th of August 2016, after a highly successful inaugural Marathon last year.

More than 500 participants took part in the race last year, with runners from the country’s army and police dominating the marathon and 10km races.

Ran along a scenic route, all the way up to the Husab Mine and back to the B2 road, this race is aimed at attracting competitive runners, while serving as a fun day for communities across Namibia who want to take part in the 5km walk/run.

The closing date for application is 8 August, while registration will take place on 12 August from 15h00 to 21h00 at the Vineta Sports Grounds.

Transport will be provided for runners from Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Arandis to the Husab Access road, from the following points. Pick up in Walvis Bay will be at 05H30 from the taxi rank in Nathaniel Maxuilili Street; pick up in Swakopmund will be at 06H00 from the Dome, while pick up in Arandis will be at 06h30, from the Zebra bus stop.
