Swakop Uranium Safety day was held on the 29 of October 2020 at various locations for all employees on site and at the Husab Tower due to Covid 19 restrictions. Every session was attended by an Exco member assisted by SSHER Officials. The primary aim of the event was for the SU Family and all contractors to “Pause and Reflect “ on all major incidents and to recommit to safety by submitting their Safety Pledges online, as SAFETY remains the number one priority for SU.
The CEO reiterated that the right of all employees to a safe and healthy working environment is respected at all levels, but that both the Employer and Employee must be fully engaged in securing a safe and healthy working environment with the highest priority accorded to the principle of prevention. He also added that it should be mandatory for all employees to perform a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) in accordance with the Company guidelines.
The SU Safety day shall be commemorated on the 29 of October each year.
