We were pleased to host the Marines from the NDF Navy who visited us on the 10th of November 2021. The attendees included Lieutenant Commander Likuwa; the Marine Training Wing Commander, accompanied by 46 students and 16 instructors. Their visit included a presentation and safety induction by our VP of Operations; Mr. Irvinne Simataa, a tour to the open pit which was led by our HOD of Mining; Timotheus Impangelwa, and thereafter a visit to the plant. In a vote of thanks, Lieutenant Commander Likuwa expressed his gratitude to the company for hosting them. He went on to say how important the tour was for them as they need to understand the key infrastructures within the country as their role is to protect and it is vital to familiarize themselves with the environment if they are ever called upon to secure and protect. Leading Seaman Sirunda who is also currently a student expressed his gratitude on behalf of the students and said that their visit has been a true learning experience. Swakop Uranium strives to support the community.
