‘Grow with the company’ was the theme of the day as the company kicked off its first Birthday Celebration event on 30 September 2021.

Birthday anniversaries are traditionally celebrated as they mark the beginning of life and bring hope for the future.  As a family, we celebrate together, we care for one another and we want the best for each other.

The Birthday Celebration event is a family dedication to celebrate the birthday anniversaries of all employees monthly and to re-affirm our family values.

A total of 195 employees celebrated their birthdays during September.  The month of September also marks the beginning of spring which is traditionally said to bring new life and new growth so, to kick off this special event in Spring is coincidentally fitting.

Mr Qiu Bin, the CEO extended best wishes to all employees born during September on behalf of the company and highlighted the theme of the event “Grow with the company.” He added that as the leader of the family he places a high value on family bonds.  Mr Qiu also spoke about the attributes of a successful company as it relates to the company’s vision ‘To be a world-class Namibian uranium producer’ stating that to achieve success,  we need to nurture good relationships within the company and promote a culture of caring for and supporting one another, as it will help us achieve our common target.

He concluded by encouraging the team to view this celebration as an engagement opportunity for communicating with management, as interaction is important to ensure a healthy family relationship.

The employees present raised their concerns and questions during the event and all of them were answered by CEO and VP: HR&OOC during the event.

The event was attended by EXCO members and approximately 40 birthday representatives from the various departments whose names are drawn by HoD’s to ensure fairness.

The event program included a brief company profile update and fun team-building games that encourages communications, trust and team work.

All employees with September birthdays received a gift and a birthday card from the company.

Once again, our hearty congratulations on yet another successful orbit around the sun for all members of the SU family who celebrated their birthday during September. We have seen your growth and we are proud of you. Happy, Happy Birthday!!
